Dr Ryan Toholka
MBBS, BMedSci, FACD
Dr Toholka graduated from the University of Melbourne with Honours in Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and a Bachelor of Medical Science. His intern and medical residency years were spent at Geelong Hospital. He also spent a research year at the Occupational Dermatology Research and Education Centre associated with the Skin Health Institute.
Ryan has worked in clinical trials at the Skin Health Institute and Eastern Clinical Research Unit aligned with Monash University. He worked with biologic treatments for chronic plaque psoriasis, nail psoriasis and hidradenitis supprativa, topical treatments for actinic keratoses and medical treatments for inoperable basal cell carcinoma. Additionally, he has held dermatology registrar training positions at the Skin and Cancer Foundation Inc., Royal Children’s Hospital, Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and also spent a year at St George’s Hospital in London.
He is academically accomplished, having published multiple papers and contributed to text book chapters in the field of allergic contact dermatitis and contact urticaria. He has also presented papers at the Australian College of Dermatologists Annual Scientific Meeting and at the European Society of Contact Dermatitis meeting.
As a local, Ryan spent his childhood years in Macedon. He attended Macedon Primary School and Braemar College. He has been involved in and participated with local football and cricket teams.
