Dr Bruno Blaya-Alvarez
MD PhD, FACD
Dr Blaya graduated from the University of Barcelona, Spain, in 2004. He completed his dermatology training at University Hospital Cruces in Bilbao, and worked as a consultant dermatologist in university teaching hospitals in Bilbao and Madrid, Spain, for eight years before moving to Australia in 2017. He completed two years of additional training at The Skin Hospital Westmead, Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He has become a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists after successfully completing the Fellowship exams in 2018.
Dr Blaya was awarded a PhD for work in molecular aspects of melanoma progression in 2013 (University of the Basque Country, Spain) and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations at national and international dermatology forums.
He has a special interest in skin cancer and male genital dermatology. He is a Senior Staff Specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown and also works at The Skin Hospital at Westmead.
Dr Blaya is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
