Outline & Components
This online course will familiarise you with Atopic dermatitis (AD), otherwise called atopic eczema, which forms part of the atopic triad with asthma and allergic rhinitis. The module also covers in detail specific conditions that often have an association with internal abnormalities.
This course consists of three online topics:
- Atopic Eczema/Dermatitis
- Endogenous Dermatitis
- Specific Disorders

Watch live and recorded lectures and participate in discussion forum on diagnosis and management direct with our expert Dermatologists.
Assessment
Assessment for this course requires the satisfactory completion of topic based quizzes, participation in the case discussion forum, submission of 2 case studies and a final MCQ exam.

This course is aimed at General Practitioners, Registrars and prevocational Doctors. Nurse practitioners are also eligible for this course. For queries regarding your eligibility, please contact gpderm@dermcoll.edu.au.
*General Practitioners practicing outside of Australia are also welcome to enroll in the course, but have to submit their qualifications for verification BEFORE enrolling. At the successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify and describe cutaneous changes that may be associated with eczema
- Critically analyse clinical cutaneous observations and/or investigations to diagnose eczema
- Plan and develop treatment and management regimens appropriate to eczema
- Assess when to refer a patient on to a specialist dermatologist

These courses are designed to provide General Practitioners and related health professionals with knowledge and skills in a range of Dermatology and skin health areas to develop their expertise and confidence in dealing with patients who present with dermatological conditions. It aims to assist you in the day-to-day management of these patients and in making the decision as to when to refer a patient to a Dermatologists.
Completion of this course does not provide you with qualifications in dermatology or guarantee you access into the ACD Specialist Training Program. In order to practice as a Specialist Dermatologist you must complete the ACD Specialist Training Program.
